Develop instrumentation and control system design documents, including specifications, drawings, and calculations
Choose and specify instrumentation parts, such as controllers, transmitters, and sensors.
Using CAD software, create schematics, diagrams, and layouts for control systems.
Using software tools like PLC programming, DCS programming, or SCADA systems, develop and put into practice control plans.
For planned initiatives, carry out cost-benefit evaluations and feasibility studies.
Ensure that projects are finished on schedule and under budget by working together with project managers, other engineers, and clients.
Ensure that instrumentation and control systems are designed and installed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
Provide technical input during the procurement phase to ensure equipment and materials meet process requirements and project specifications.
Keep abreast on new developments in the field of instrumentation and control systems as well as market trends.
Support construction activities by resolving instrumentation engineering issues and ensuring adherence to design specifications.
Recommend and implement improvements to existing instrumentation and control systems and processes, including the introduction of new technologies and enhancements to current operations.
Insure all instrumentation and control engineering work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering in a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience within an EPC environment.
Proficiency in using CAD software for control system design.
Experience with control system programming and software tools such as PLC programming, DCS programming, or SCADA systems.
Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to instrumentation and control systems, such as ISA, IEC, and NEC
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with industrial processes and equipment, such as pumps, motors, and valves, is a plus design (FEED) through execution and commissioning.
